Who can become a member of NITO?

To become a member of NITO, you must have a bachelor's, master's or higher degree in engineering and technology, or equivalent professional competence gained through education, courses, certificates or work experience. NITO is happy to review your CV to assess whether you meet the requirements for membership.

What does it cost to be a NITO member?

NITO has three memberships with different membership fees for working members, student members and pensioners.

Supplement: BFI membership for biomedical laboratory technicians
(must also be paid in the event of a reduced position)

There is also the possibility of different types of discounts if, among other things, you are a recent graduate, have a partner who is also a member, are on disability benefit, are taking further education or have a reduced position.

Can I unsubscribe at any time?

Yes, you can unsubscribe from NITO at any time. You can easily do this on My page.

By unsubscribing, your NITO insurances and discount agreements with our partners cease. You cannot continue to get the insurances at a member price.

 

What membership benefits are included in NITO membership?

NITO's most important task is to take care of your interests in everyday work. But you also get access to a number of services and financial benefits that allow you to quickly recoup your membership fee.

Can I participate in courses and activities as a NITO member?

Yes, you can. As a member of NITO, you have access to a number of courses and activities.

Can I get a tax deduction for the membership fee?

If you are a working member of NITO, you can deduct the entire NITO membership fee from taxable income.

Pensioner fees are not deductible.

NITO reports the trade union dues directly to the tax authorities for you if you are registered with a personal identity number with us.

Can I become a member if I do not have a Norwegian national identity number?

Yes, you can apply for membership in NITO even if you do not have a Norwegian national identity number.
