Congressional Election Committee
The nomination committee elected at the NITO congress 2024 is responsible for finding and presenting proposals for: NITO's Executive Board, Audit Committee, Law Committee, Nomination Committee and Ethics Committee to be elected at NITO's congress in 2027.
Elections at NITO's congress
NITO's congress is the highest decision-making body in NITO. The congress is held every three years and gathers representatives from all over the country. During the congress, important issues that affect the organization's policies, strategies and laws for NITO (the organization's overarching statutes) are discussed and decided.
Which positions are to be elected at NITO's congress?
Executive Board
The Executive Board of NITO is the highest political body in NITO in the periods between each congress. The Executive Board chairs and represents NITO in accordance with applicable law and statutes, as well as congress and congress resolutions. The Executive Board consists of 13 members, of whom 11 are elected at the congress. The Executive Board holds regular Board meetings.
The Ethics Committee
NITO's Ethics Committee is an advisory body for NITO's members and organisational levels. The committee has several tasks, including administering NITO's ethical guidelines, dealing with any complaints, and highlighting and further developing NITO's work on professional ethics. The ethics committee has 7 members, including 1 deputy, and has 7 regular meetings a year.
The Law Committee
NITO's Law Committee is the Executive Board's advisory body for technical legal issues in "Law for NITO". All proposals for amendments to NITO's laws are presented to the Law Committee, which gives its comments and assesses the consequences before it is forwarded to the Executive Board or the Congress. The Law Committee has 5 members, including 1 deputy, and is primarily operational ahead of the congress.
The Nomination Committee
The congress nomination committee in NITO has the mandate to map, assess and recommend candidates for respective positions of trust who are elected at the congress. This includes candidates for the Executive Board, the Ethics Committee, the Law Committee, the Audit Committee and the congress nomination committee. The committee has 6 members, including 1 deputy, and is primarily operational ahead of the congress.
The Audit Committee
The NITO Audit Committee is a control body whose primary task is to supervise and control that the Executive Board and the administration of NITO follow the organisation's statutes, resolutions and strategies. The committee has 5 members, including 1 deputy, and has regular meetings with the presidency, as well as the auditor.
